Development

From concept to launch the game took 1 and a half months. As Development Lead on the project I was involved in conceptualisation as well as the bulk of the Unity C# Development and WebGL Deployment. I also followed on into the Marketing of the product, creating videos and presenting at conferences on the game.

Reception

Since launch, SDD has been very well received, earning a news spotlight on Channel 10 as well as a garnering its own article in the Financial Review (Sprague, 2020). SDD has also received endorsements from doctors from around Australia, included in the channel 10 spotlight as a good way to educate kids about social distancing.

Even though the launch of SDD was mostly local to our hometown of Perth, WA. We have seen extended play times in over 14 countries worldwide including Alaska, India, Sweden, and Japan.

Project

Social Distance Dash is a Video Game targeted at audiences ages 6 and up. Where the player is tasked to deliver some toilet paper to their grandmother who lives at the end of the street. While playing, kids will have to walk 1.5 meters around other people, navigate tricky situations, and collect hand sanitizer bottles to safely get to grandma.
